The World Championships concept
The 2009 Project
The concept of the World Championships is based on three primary themes:

- - The " Face to Face " : the women's speed events will take place on the " Rhône-Alpes " slope on Solaise directly opposite Bellevarde on which the men's events are to be run; all the organization amenities and the finish area are encompassed in a 800m perimeter, near the heart of the resort.
- - A festive village atmosphere : a vast programme of festivities and entertainments is planned in addition to the competitions in a car-free village where one can walk, ski, sledge, surf ... promoting a certain alpine " art de vivre ".
- - Environmental issues : figure in every phase and every domain of the World Championships project. It's another step in the right direction to fulfilling our ambition of long-term sustainable development for Val d'Isère.
