Anti-doping control regulations: art. 14

(Extracted from "Rules for the organisation of FIS World Championships" FIS August 2006)

Anti-doping and medical regulations:
In the event of a doubt being expressed or a complaint being lodged concerning the gender of an athlete, the FIS is obliged to take the necessary steps to determine the gender of the athlete in question. (art.221.4RIS).
The FIS anti-doping rules and regulations are established according to the World Anti- doping Code which defines all the decrees on the subject of anti-doping controls and the FIS Medical Guide which describes the rules and procedures for gender control. Anti-doping controls are obligatory for all the events.


World Championships Anti-Doping Controls:

Anti-doping tests will be carried out on the first 4 racers in each race plus two competitors selected at random. The anti- doping unit is comprised of two sample-taking doctors form the French Anti-Doping Agency (AFLD), one man and one woman, 9 male escorts and 9 female escorts. The anti-doping premises will be located within the "Race Office" in the Henri Oreiller Centre. Tests will be carried out by the AFLD according to FIS rules and regulations. The organization of the anti-doping tests is to be supervised by the coordinating sport doctor from the Organizing Committee.
