Team Zones


« Race Office »

The Race Office is located in Val d'Isère's Henri Oreiller Conference Centre, at short distance from to the Finish Areas. All the team services are to be centralised this one location.
The race secretarial service will manage the following on behalf of the teams:
- car parking,
- transport,
- waxing boxes,
- accreditation alterations,
- sports hall reservations,
- training run and ski testing reservation timetable,
- team captain meetings,
- accommodation: a correspondent will be on hand to answer any questions relating to hotels, paid expenses and accommodation vouchers. A letterbox per team and per gender will be positioned at the entrance to the Race Office.
 
The Race Office will also house the following offices:
- FIS race secretary,
- FIS transport dept.,
- Swiss Timing timekeeping and data processing departments,
- Météo France Organizing Committee weather services,
- Anti doping unit and sport coordinator doctor.

Team captain meetings will be held at 5pm for the men and 6pm for the Ladies in the « Race Office » auditorium in the Henri Oreiller conference centre. The "Race Office" will be operational from January 26th 2009.


« Team hospitality »

Specially designated areas are to be available for the athletes and their support staff at each start area or within a very short distance serving light refreshments and drinks. An athletes hospitality zone located between the two Finish Areas will be accessible to the athletes at all times to allow them to wait between two runs


Waxing Boxes

Approximately one hundred waxing boxes are to be located on the two levels of the Conference Centre car park for the use of the technicians, with an extra 10 cabins outdoors.
Waxing boxes will be available from January 19th 2009. The car park will be heated and be fitted with a ventilation system.
A loading and unloading zone will be established at the entrance to the car park. Ski testing slopes: the "Madeleine" slope (Solaise), and the "Plat de Borsat" slope on the "OK" (Bellevarde); tests commence on January 19th 2009.


Sports Halls

Three venues will be available for the teams during the entire World Championships period. A weights room and gym in Val d'Isère, exclusively for athletes' use. A weights room, three gymnasiums and a swimming pool in Bourg St Maurice plus a gymnasium, swimming pool and weights room in Tignes.
Reservations for use of these weights rooms, gymnasiums and swimming pools will the managed by the Race Office directly. The three sites will be available from January 31st 2009.


Training and warm-up stadiums

Training stadiums will be available for team use from January 31st 2009. The "OK" slope will be divided in three sections plus the Legettaz stadium in Solaise after the Ladies speed events.
Warm-up stadiums will be available for the racers on every competition day.
