Practicing medecine in France
Exercice de la médecine en France- Authorisation to practice medicine in France during the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in Val d'Isère 2009.
In order to practice medicine during the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in Val d'Isère 2009, Team doctors must obtain the necessary authorizations form the appropriate public bodies. Team doctors will only be accredited by the Organizing Committee on presentation of a valid authorization; no accreditations will be issued without the appropriate authorization.European Union Citizen doctors holding European qualifications:
According to clause L-4112-7 to 11 of the Public Health Code:- He/she must first request authorization to practice medicine in France from the General Medical Council (Conseil National de l'Ordre des Médecins)
- He/she must send the Organizing Committee the completed attached declaration in French or in English, along with all the necessary documentary evidence, no later than November 30th 2008.
- A receipt will be received within 15 days with a "Conseil de l'Ordre des Médecins" registration number. The receipt should be sent to the local "Assurance Maladie", for the region concerned.
- Documentary evidence must be presented to the Organizing Committee.
Non-European Union Citizen doctors or European Union Citizen doctors not holding European qualifications :
- The above category of doctors must address their request for authorization to practice medicine on an exceptional and temporary basis, to the Organizing Committee no later than November 30th 2008, who will then forward it on to the Ministry for Health. Their request must include the following documents :- Copy of their doctor's diplomas issued by the country of origin (accompanied by a translation by an authorized translator.)
- A written sworn statement that the doctor will only treat members from his delegation and only prescribe drugs that are authorized on the French market.
- A declaration from the sporting federation to which the doctor is assigned.
The doctors must present their authorization to the Organizing Committee.
