Medication imports by foreign delegations
According to art. L 5124-13 of the "Code de la Santé Publique" (Public Health Guide) medication imports for human use are subject to prior authorization issued by the "Agence Française de Sécurité Sanitaire des Produits de Santé".- Medicine Supplies Box
Doctors must request authorization to import medication from the "Agence Française de Sécurité Sanitaire des Produits de Santé" - AFSSAPS using the attached form in appendix 2. The request must include all the medication in the medicine supplies box. A full list must be complied on the sporting federation headed paper.The list, in French and English, should be sent to :

The medication list will then be forwarded on to the "l'Agence Française de Lutte contre le Dopage" (French Anti-Doping Agency) by the AFSSAPS. Should doctors need to restock their medicine supplies box, they must forward a list of any supplementary items the AFSSAPS.
- Emergency First Aid kit
The team doctor's Emergency First Aid kit is not subjected to AFSSAPS control. Doctors are the only people authorized to carry narcotic medication up to a limit of 10 units in their emergency first aid kit.- Medication carried by athletes
Medication carried by athletes for their personal use is exempt of import authorizations. The sportsperson must carry his own personal medication along with a prescription (less than 3 months old) that must be produced on customs officers request.- French Health Products Safety Agency website
