Car Parks and Transport

Car Parks

Val d'Isère wishes to highlight the protection of the environment during the World Championships period. As a result, motor vehicle use is to be restricted within the village for each accreditation category. Every team must reduce its vehicle requirements to a strict minimum. Car parking spaces for federations will be allotted first and foremost in hotels; some extra spaces will be reserved in Val d'Isère's underground car parks according to the quotas. You will very shortly be receiving information concerning your allotted quotas.

Transports

> Aeroplane : Geneva Cointrin, Lyon Saint Exupéry, Grenoble Saint Geoirs, and Chambéry airports form the main international gateway when travelling to Val d'Isère by plane.
Schedule bus routes offer transfers from the airports to the resorts (www.satobus.com from Lyon, ww.altibus.com from Geneva) plus private taxis on request (list available from the Organizing Committee). A special reception desk may be found inside the terminal buildings from January 31st to February 15th 2009.

> Train : Bourg St. Maurice train station is the terminus for TGV, Thalys and Eurostar trains.
A specific reception/information desk will be located inside the station and free transfer buses to the resort will be operating between January 31st and February 15th from 7am to 9pm. A transportation service will also be available for teams for short journeys during the entire World championships period. Vehicle reservations will be managed at the Race Office.
